Zenn Motor Company manufactures
a 2-seat battery electric vehicle currently in production and
designed to qualify as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. It has
a range of up to 35 miles and does not exceed 25 mph. This is
not street legal in most cases.
In 2007 EEStor announced plans to ship 15 kilowatt-hour Electrical
Energy Storage Units (EESU) to ZENN Motor Company by end of
2007 for use in the ZENN electric vehicles. The timeline is
now planned for the fall of 2009. If this works then it will
make ZENN a super-power in the automobile industry. As of April
30, 2007 ZENN Motor Company owns approximately 3.8% of the equity
of EEstor, after an investment of $2.5M US.
The CityZenn is Zenn’s
model that is claimed to be available by the fall of 2009. It
will be fully certified, and highway capable. It will have a
top speed of 78 MPH and a range of 250 miles. The batteries
supplied by EEstor are critical to the success of this model.
